I'm hearing of supply constraints for 360s, but I'm also still seeing 360 phats (Arcade and Elite) available at retailers. My question is: are the phats selling at the cut price, or has the market decided that even at the cut price the old skus are simply not worth getting and buyers will bide their time for the 360s, or wait for the 360s Arcade?
If it wasn't for 360s the charts in the last few weeks would have been the typical holding pattern as in previous years, and the rest of the consoles' numbers pretty much reflect this mid-year doldrums.
What I want to see is whether PS3 will drop below 100K for any week prior to Move launch. Despite what people and commentators think about Move's potential I'm certain there will be a Move bump (even if only as little as 5% for one week) on the week it launches, and PS3's lowest HW week for the year will happen before Move launches not after. August usually sees the lowest selling weeks for the year and PS3 only has a 20K buffer leading in to August. It will be an interesting one to watch.
