Exchange rates are killing them as we saw yesterday with their Q1 report. They will want to hold off on releasing the 3DS overseas until they can get a maximum profit. Releasing it locally should be be no problem and they will do it as soon as possible to counteract declining demand.
The other good thing is that they will avoid the Holiday rush emptying their stock of 3DS and having to go a year or so with limited supply. This was a painful lesson they learned with the Wii.
Plus, they will have a chance to squeeze a little bit more out of the Wii and DS, which are entirely capable of having one more high-selling Christmas season with incredible release lists.
