Em, c'mon, stop being childish.
Sony cannot lie about their numbers - they have regulatory authorities and shareholders to answer to. These numbers are ten times as reliable as MC, NPD, VGC and GFK figures because it is easy to monitor how many PS3s leave Sony factory's.
Just because you don't want to believe these numbers doesn't mean they wrong. They are fact.
The whole 'tight supply' thing could be fud, but from what I hear there were shortages in the US.
