2. And as for your main point that copy can be taken away from you, it could be stolen, damaged to the point where it is unreadable etc. A digital copy can be re downloaded at any time as long as the company is still active.
3.And additionally there are DRM schemes in the works which could have your player connect to the Internet to check if your copy is legit and block it if it isn't it is only a small step to move to a system that could censor banned material etc it's a brave new world out there lol.

1. Thanks for just repeating exactly what I said
2. And your Hard Drive and Computer can be stolen, or you HDD can go bad. And its like you said only if the company is still around and allowing that file to be downloaded. But if a company dissappears, you cant redownload the file so how will that stop me from putting my Blu-ray in my PS3 and watching the movie? It wont
3. And if I bought my copy legit, why would I care about this. Plus i could just use a player that doesnt connect to the internet, problem solved. Sure they can make it so that it always has to be connected to the net but we both know there is ways around that.

2 if you HDD etc is stolen then download, that is one of the advantages of DD, if you are worried about that you could always burn to disc for backup. The chance of these companies going bankrupt and not being bought by another company are slim, you are more likely to have your stolen/damaged in the same time period.

And if my Blu-rays are stolen my home owners insurance can cut me a check for the losses. And then I can go and rebuy them again.
Damaging them isn't really even really a question, scratches just don't happen on them with the coating they have for them. You really have to go out of your way to damage a Blu-ray disc. Plus if it was damage from any outside source, like a natural disaster/burglary. It would also be covered under my home owners insurance.
