I don't understand people on this thread saying that Nintendo is, has been, and always will be, doomed. Really? Because I think Nintendo easily dominated this generation, and it probably will the next, as well, thanks to Nintendo 3DS. Even last generation, due to the Gameboy Advance/SP, Nintendo was still viable competition (again, I mean overall, not in console wars). It should also be noted that Nintendo has the strongest and most stable handheld market of ANY other video game company in history. I think Nintendo is far from doomed. I think Nintendo will continue to be the leaders in gaming innovation for years to come.
Note for all the Nintendo haters out there: Please note that I didn't say graphics, multimedia, or HD. I said innovation. It is pretty much impossible to deny Nintendo's true skill in that department.

They're saying people have always claimed Ninty is doomed. Even when it's not. Which it isn't.

Good point. Personally, I think Sony's reign as top dog is pretty much over. It will most likely always be viable competition, but it might take an awfully long time before it can say it's at the top again. With Nintendo being Nintendo (which in this gen, happens to be good), and Sony having both a portable and console in it's share of the market, I'd say Microsoft is the one who may be doomed soon, despite Kinect. It has no handheld to bring to the competition, unless you count Windows Phone, which will most likely never be the gaming system it could be. Microsoft is technically last place in this gen, as it was last gen.
