I don't know about you, but when I buy a new console I expect a lot of new experiences and I don't believe Nintendo have delivered in that regard.

I have seen this several times in this thread, and it is just bullshit.  Nintendo has brought the most new, fresh ideas to gaming this generation.  No one else is even close.

Take away motion controls and they've done nothing of the sort, where is the game that defined how 3D platform games would be played for years after?  Where is the invention of something like Zeldas Z-targeting that would be copied for years?   Its nowehere, because Nintnedo are just making prettier versions of their SNES and N64 games without anything groundbreaking like the originals had.

What makes it worse is Nintendo decided to go with a less powerful console compared to competitors this gen so they don't even have the amazing graphics edge anymore, its all down on game design and they've collapsed backwards 12 years.

That's incorrect, Nintendo has done the thing that will define games going forward, they've reawakened gaming as a mainstream form of entertainment, perhaps it required going back, back to the NES in some regards, but that's a good thing, the path that gaming was on was a sure path to irrelevancy for gaming.  This new path they are on is the path we should have been on from the NES era.

That'S absolutely true, Nintendo awakened once again the market to the mainstream and a Zelda 1:1 motion controls is something more than awesome and groundbreaking, as you call. Mario Galaxy in itself is a very different experience from Mario 64 and is the best 3D Mario game ever. Mario Galaxy brought the power-ups to a new level where each one doesn't really give Mario more chances to win, but offers new gameplay mechanics. The combination of 2D and 3D mechanics, the spherical worlds, the gravity, all are concepts that Galaxy brought and will make bigger changes than you think in Mario's history.
