Yup, Motorstorm was retrofitted. And I don't think you should be concerned about it, Pacific Rift was never build for 3D (the new Apocalypse is however), so I wouldn't worry about the quality not being all that high.
I hope Sony add more demos to their 3D showings though, I'd love to see Gran Turismo on there.
