Look at the software charts for when the PS3 Slim came in and compare those to the software that the 360 is producing now. It's all about software and if MS is only selling 360's to consumers who already have an xbox then what is the point? The 360 outsold the the PS3 by 2.5-1, but how many of those were new customers? How many of those bought new games? The answer, very little considering the PS3's software actually outsold the 360's software. The only thing that the 360s is doing is prolonging PS3's venture to 2nd place (if it ever does of course). |
If new systems are being traded in, or given to other people, then other people end up with the 360 platform. It works out longer term to benefit Microsoft.
