But the point that the PC is more complicated because these issues exist still stands.  The fact that you have to know how not to get virusses is an annoyance that some of us don't want to deal with, and therefore consoles are more plug and play friendly.  If you have to read a "PCs for Dummies" book to not run into these issues then it's already more work than a console.

Right, except that you can't say "the PC gets viruses" it should be more along the lines of "I don't know what I am doing to protect my PC." How often do you see a line along the lines of the former, and how many times have you seen something along the latter? That's my main problem, people assume that it's their PC that is the problem when it is their own fault. They try to pass off their ignorance on the PC instead of saying "I don't use a PC because I don't have the ability to" they jsut say "the PC is not good enough."

You are right it does take a little mroe time to get used to the PC, but as with everything, the things that are best take a while to learn. You don't learn to be an F1 driver just by getting in an automatic SUV and driving. Sure that is enough to get you from point A to point B, but it is nowhere near as amazing a driving experience as a manual sports car. If driving is the goal that is.
