I think most of us were aware of this and it should be noted that the PS3 was always much further behind before the launch of the slim. I could go on.. etc, etc.
but when you just take a step back from it all and look at those numbers (even with the knowledge that the 360 will pull ahead soon) it is just amazing.
They compete so well with one another, but both Sony and Microsoft must know that without the other, there is a chance that a single HD console would not have been able to compete with the wii (this is debatable i know) and because they keep each other in line with sales, the consoles keep selling.
And I think it will stay this way until either the PS3 or 360 wins 2 holidays in a row.
it will come down to whoever moves on to next gen first.
Sony and Microsoft both want to see the 720 before the PS4.
This gen is amazingly close between the 2 systems, lets hope the individuality of all of the competitors is maintained more dynamically next gen, unlike this gen where the hd systems are so similar.
