That's not angry, that's apathetic. Apathy is cool to a certain degree, yes. It's been that way for a long time, as you could see "too cool to care" archetypes dating back to the 50's and possibly earlier, depending on where you look.
Anger is not cool. I'm angry. I'm a control freak that flies off the handle regarding many things (though you've only seen results of that in Monster Hunter and Sin and Punishment) and has a low tolerance for ineptitude. I can quite definitively say that i have never been percieved as cool.
