I'm not the best authority to say what Nintendo used to be, but me, who never ever owned a single Nintendo console or handheld since NES and G&W until Wii and DS came out*, as a part of their current audience should be a good indicator they are on track with being "Old Nintendo", probably.
*Well, I did, but after I got DS and eventually Wii, just to learn what this thing (Nintendo) is about. Overall, I liked it.
