In my country minors don't get to buy PEGI 18 rated games, and I see there no problem. I didn't even when I was under 18 myself.
To just anyone: Would you show porn to a minor? Oh, you would not? Then how is violence better? Stopping minors from playing too violent games is not the perfect solution but until you come up with something better, it's the best we have.
