That nice... I only buy PC games through steam as well. I'm not sure how that pertains to my post, unless you are suggesting that all people can 'just double click in steam' and that magically makes their PCs work better. Consoles are consoles because the necessary knowledge and costs in playing games tends to be less than on a PC.

It's really pretty easy these days, and it's about the same price if you shop smart on Steam. Windows 7 did make things more idiot proof apparently. the complaints has always been having to install shit, configure them, but with steam, you just click stuff and let it do the work, and if you don't know about settings, either do optimal or don't bother and it'd still look at least as good as consoles if not better with modern games. I do live in the US where PCs can be quiet cheap though, not sure where you are.

I was strictly talking about the hardware to begin with anyway. Which imo requires more maintenance ( $) and can be higher cost for a basic system ( $) than most consoles typically are. I live in the US as well. But ultimately like I said, I choose PC version of multiplatform games over the console version, which is why my X360 has almost as much dust on it as my Wii.

a PC isn't only for games though, before I got all new parts for my current machine, the last time I did any real upgrade was 5 years before and maybe a new video card every 3 years at a non prime price. Granted that a PC will cost more, the much cheaper prices of games in the long run and a lot more functions to use it for is the real value of a PC, best part is you don't worry about backwards compatibility with most games these days as people can still play games even from the DOS days. I say sell the 360 and Wii if they are collecting so much dust =P. I sold the 360 personally and I don't regret it at all.
