Let me clear something up about the critics. A large number of the negative reviews are from critics based in New York. In fact, the number is vastly disproportionate. At one point, 16 of the 23 negative reviews for the movie were from New York based critics and only 4 positive from New York. The speculation is that the New York Critics are bitter(and they are, admittedly) about Nolan's choice not to pick New York as Gotham for TDK. It's mentioned in SEVERAL reviews FOR INCEPTION by those critics and indeed, there was nearly a RT article written about it, before the reviews started to even out slightly(though the negatives are still disproportionately from NYC.
So, before you start putting too much faith in RT on the top critics opinions, you need to understand that NYC critics snubbed this film without crediting its merit, and anyone who keeps up with this kind of stuff will tell you that. It's kind of like saying, "Wii sucks, just ask EGM." The bastards are biased and don't need to be telling anyone how good something is if they can't keep their personal shit out of their reviews.
