I have a warning for all who are planning on playing the game more than once. When you defeat the Final Boss, do not save over your current file because the game immediately resets itself, and unless you've purchased the required material to carry over your valuable work (information, styles, arte mastery, levels etc.) prior to beating the final boss, absolutely nothing will carry over and you don't get a chance to go back. As far as I'm aware there are currently no full FAQ's that mention this so i thought i'd warn everyone here myself.

I foolishly saved over my save because i assumed i would be able to restart my file outside the Final Boss again like in Tales of Vesperia. I had planned to spend my post-story time grinding some more for max level, arte mastery, guild rank and grade, Unfortunately because of my hasty actions, my plans of carrying over everything dear to me into a second playthrough in an attempt to 100% complete the game are lost, and i am forced to play the game again from scratch. After roughly 70 hours of in-game time, all my precious accumulated Grade, near filled Bestiary and Collectors Book, numerous rare items i proudly had Ange steal for the sake of completion, and a Spada with all his arte's mastered... gone.

This kind of situation is very disheartening and can seriously turn off people from wanting to even touch the game again so i thought i'd warn everybody now. A few days ago i reached the final dungeon, I spent the majority of my time yesterday and the day before grinding for cash and level so i could only to lose all my hard work when i beat the Final Boss. Fortunately, total completion is a huge motivator for me, and i am so captivated by the Tales battle system that i am actually willing to start over and make another attempt to 100% complete the game.

With that out the way, i actually really enjoy this game. You'd imagine being on a handheld that it'd be really dumbed down and stripped of the depth that is present in console Tales games but that's not the case. This is a very good game. Why Namco-Bandai couldn't just localize it is beyond me.
