I know that spiralling costs of game development are wreaking havok on publishers finances, but this really isn't the answer. MMORPGs started off as pay to play and were justified due to high server costs. Multiplayer FPS has been free for 15 years so they'd better have thought up a way to truly give value to the consumer or this is going to fail big time.

I don't see consumers eating this one up unless it's designed as a full MMO FPS.
