Takumi Naramura, one of the brilliant minds behind indie darling La-Mulana, recently gave an exclusive interview to the folks at Nintendo Life. Among other interesting bits of information, Naramura gave a hint as to when the targeted release date for the upcoming WiiWare remake might be.

NL: Any idea when we might see La Mulana released on the WiiWare service?

Naramura: The development has not yet ended, so we cannot make any conclusions due to testing and issues that may occur up until launch, but we would like to release before the end of Fall.

La-Mulana is the second time studio Nicalis has remade a cult hit indie PC game for Nintendo's WiiWare service, the first being the critically well-received Cave Story. Both, ironically, are meant to pay homage to classic Metroid and Castlevania games of old. Unlike Cave Story, however, the original La-Mulana was made in the style of MSX games, with the protagonist Lemeza even having an in-game MSX laptop.

Xugo Gaming will be sure to report an official, concrete release date as soon as it is revealed.

I really enjoyed both Cave Story and La Mulana long before they were even announced for Wii Ware so I can hardly wait for this. I wonder if they'll preserve the overall level of difficulty for it. The original LM is practically impossible without some type of guide.
