Well I won't comment on that but...
Have you ever talked to a 40 year old person who grew up on computer games about the quality of the games you like? They'll laugh at you and tell you that your game isn't quality at all.
And I bet you'll call them "elitists" and they'll say you've got a bad taste, haha 
I actually know this situation because I think most movies are crap. This is because as a child I always watched movies to "learn" something new (hard to explain) but most movies just want to entertain you. So it often happens that I watch a good movie with my friends, we all enjoy it but afterwards we realize that we liked it because of completely different things and they think I'm crazy because they didn't even think of the aspects I mentioned and vice versa
