Which has made many many many opposing fanboys, go into an unbearable amount of damage control. Their insecurities are shown even more, and judging by their reactions and defensive manner... their pretty much shitting themselves.
Sony in particular who were doing so well in the past two genrations where they were on top. Now Nintendo is on top. Even Microsoft (who only just entered the maker last generation) are above sony this generation. It's a huge suprise for many Sony Fanboys and pretty much scares the crap out of them. Hence all their defensive comments and reactions.
Nintendo has made a tremendous comeback from last place in the previous generation to and outright and unbreakable lead (In terms of sales anyway). Microsoft holds onto second place, but have achieved so much already considering how new they are to the console market.
Sony.... well... compared to their post performances (in terms of their performance against the competition), they have been underwhelming despite having some awesome AAA exclusive games. Its scary for these sony fanboys, particularly since they were on top for so long. Arrogance and ignorace bought sony into this position. Although they are somewhat crawling their way back now, it just seems like a lost cause considering how far they have fallen back already.
