PS3 wasnt out in 2005 in the UK... or 2006... it launched March 2007!!??
360 launched in Dec 2005 and was almost impossible to get until Jan 2006. (so 2nd 2005 is hardly relevant)
you have quoted the lowest price for the 360, when evidence suppports this isnt the biggest selling.

I am pretty sure NPD released a stat that showed the average price point indicated that isnt the case.... will likely be similar in the UK too.

I'm utterly convinced the Arcade has been the best selling for a while until I see evidence that proves otherwise.

A brand new model, £50 cheaper than the competition - is still cheap, and no doubt it will sell big.
360 has many things that make it sell well in the UK - but price is definitely the biggest one.
