People keep saying this.... How many 3d movies are worth watching, let alone buying to keep forever? Name me your top 10, hell try a top 5. physical medis?... the same thing people (even I said it) about music cd's.

3D - from what I've seen from the cinema - and from all the major analysts who know better than us - is a certainty of success. It's just going to take time.
3D is in its baby steps, it's still at birth. Sky 3D is coming Autumn, and over time new releases will hit 3D.
The point still stands though, BRD is going to get a good boost when the majority go 3D - so we are maybe talking by 2015 or 2016 that BRD is the standard movie format and DVD does no longer meaningfully exist.
As for the music comparison, it's totally different. I listen to hundreds of songs a day, and like to dowload loads of them. It's not rationale to pop to the shops to buy them all. Music tracks also download A LOT faster obviously, and downloading music has quality benefits as well as the tracks being easier put on modern music players.
Movies - it's rationale to pop to the shops because you watch only a few a week at best - take way longer to download - quality is better on the disc - and movie players are more acceptant of discs.
