why would they do that? they are almost matching and demand is already there?  

yes but the demand is for the PS3's current price which could increase

they dont care about being slightly above the wii or slightly below it.

what he meant was that if a small price increases it over the wii,depedning on that they can project how big will it be if they do a big price cut

they care about revenue and profits.

yes they do but they will still be making profit.

and if they sell more consoles then more software overall,so revenue and profit will be more

...and the 360 is a pointless discussion topic for Japan.  I jave a 360S now, a fine machine - looks good, is compact and solid.. if that doesnt garner interest there nothing will.
