I tried to avoid replying in this thread as a lot of ignorance in here. But screw it!
This whole "The casual don't know about Kinect, only hardcore gamers know about Kinect" whole thing is a load of bollocks and is nothing more then wishful thinking.
Like just for example today. One of the biggest media companies on the planet has on their most popular current news articles this

If you look on the front page of BBC
Your see it is the SECOND most popular news piece. That is a story about Kinect.
This does not mean it will go on to sell xyz. What it means is Kinect is more news worthy and thus people become aware of it. Millions of people will have seen that article, millions would of seen the news piece on the tv for it. This raises awareness for it.
As time goes by and more of these types of things appear then more and more people will know about it.
