Lol at 3D and mature games. What a milestones, yeah...

I guess you want to still be stuck in 2D.

By "Mature" games, we all know they mean violent games. There were some complex, "not for the kids" games back in the day, but how big of an audience was there for that?

Violent video games ARE a milestone for the video game industry, because, just look at this community here. We always talk about how great MGS4 or Halo or Gears or Uncharted or Metroid is. Would you all really be having as much fun gaming if we were restricted to family friendly games or "Mature" games (as, like it or not, it's the Nintendo fans that like to describe them as "not for children, but not overly violent").

If all we were ever exposed to were games like Carnival Games (shovelware) or Mario or Sonic (actual good games) but never exposed to the likes of Grand Theft Auto or Tekken, do you honestly think the landscape of the industry would be the same? There'd be so many potential gamers out there who would just...not be gamers because they don't want to play family games or something like Mario. Sometimes...we just want to sit back and kill people. And the millions that bought all the Mortal Kombats, Street Fighters, Tekkens, Grand Theft Autos, Metal Gears, Halos, etc prove that
