so gran turismo 5 is just a smidge under CoD: black ops.  with the one week head start it is behind by around 20 k or basically 85%.  on the ps3 MW2 sold around 1.6M (sales not preorders) in the americas week one.  okay, maybe it's a leap of faith but 85% of 1.6M is 1.36M so a GT opening of around a million in the americas really isn't that far fetched.  europe and japan will together do at least the same as the americas so a opening week in the ballpark of 2 maybe 3 million is not out of the question. 

sure, halo will do better but not a bad opening for GT.

GT5 is going to open bigger in EU than it will in America, so I would guess it will be closer 3 mil than 2.  That's if it sells 1 mill in America, which I'm pretty sure it will.


Look it doesn't really matter if GT5 sells 2m - 3m or more FW the skeptics will keep on going then when they are proven wrong they'll claim like it was about in line to what they expect or worst(LOL), like I said they never learn they did the same with PS3 slim launch,Heavy rain(remember the HEAVY RAIN will fail threads?) and Uncharted 2 sales especially Unharted 2 as the pre orders for this game wasn't that high in NA as well and look how well it did.
