Since it's just a passive viewing experience, it really doesn't add anything to the game at all, but the effect itself was extremely convincing and made me want to experience actual game play segments with the same effect.
It kind of messes with your eyes though; like staring at one of those "hidden picture" stereoscopic images for too long.
