Nobody can anwer that question becuase if you have never played DQ what can any of us do to hype you? I suggest getting DQXI or sny of the other installments and playing them. If yuo dont like them you will not like DQ X * unless its dramtically different* as the series hasnt had any huge changes since its creation.
