That may be due to the FFXIV release date.

XIV will never overtake WoW, but it is stealing some of there players. Hopefully not the 2 year old brats.

I really doubt any of these negative numbers actually indicate people cancelling preorders.  Just like when  the sales numbers get adjusted it doesn't mean people returned or purchased a ton that week.

I also doubt that the latest FF mmo is stealing many wow players at all. Anecdotally, everyone that I know who plays wow is really interested in the old republic. I doubt anyone of them have heard of or care the next FF mmo.
