Actually, there were people who hypothesized that only the Nintendo-core were buying the Wii... they were just buying it particularly enthusiastically. I haven't seen it in a few months since it's been clear for a while now that the Wii would demolish all GC records. Regardless, this line of thinking suggested that the Wii should have stopped selling as soon as it hit the GC LTD total, as no one new is buying the console.
