Actually, I'm of my own secular beliefs lol. I largely don't care if there is a God or not, an after life or not. I'm just gonna ride this wagon til the wheels fall off. I try to not do any person harm, verbally or physically and try to be the best possible person I can be. Not because of some book, or because of fear of some punishment later on. But because that's what I feel is right..whatever that means ha.

This is pretty close to my thoughts, except that, to me, belief in a god makes no sense. How could a being exist to bring other beings into existance, especially when we have proof of things like evolution? There are theories about the beginning of life that make more sense to me than this all-knowing being just snapping and things being so. I'm not to the point of scientology, but I do believe that science is closer to the truth about the origins of the universe.

I won't tell a believer that they're wrong, because I can't concretely prove it wrong, but I also expect to not have it shoved down my throat that there is, because they can't prove me wrong. Basically, I've got my beliefs, and you yours- don't try to force your thoughts at me, and we'll be fine. (Oh, and don't expect me to partake in a religious aspect of any holiday.)

I actually feel this way as well some times. But I think it does make sense in the context of the unknown. Some folks need the comfort of their beliefs to get through life, life in itself is a struggle, you know? I can understand that, but I don't need that.

What I find as a recuring theme here in this thread is people don't want religion or anti religious? beliefs forced upon them. I think that most people want to believe or not believe whatever it is they believe lol.

I'm glad that Athiesm is on the rise. I wonder if its just in America or WW though. I've heard that WW Atheism is even more pronounced.
