Golden Sun is actually owned by Nintendo. Or I should say co-owned. Check it out http://www.goldensun-games.com

©2001-2003 Nintendo/CAMELOT. TM, ® and the Game Boy Advance logo are trademarks of Nintendo.

Nintendo has 2nd party rights to the franchise. Camelot could no more make Golden Sun without Nintendo than Rare could make Viva Pinata without Microsoft. So yes, Golden Sun is a Nintendo franchise and should be recognized as such.

OK, fine. Thanks for letting me know. Would you consider Tetris a Nintendo franchise? They own some rights but I don't know if enough to class it as theirs.

EDIT: The status of the DS game is unclear. The developers appear to have expressed interest in it, but no development has yet taken place as far as I can tell. I'm putting it as 'No'.

Nintendo has zero rights to Tetris. They at one time did, but Tetris Holding currently owns all rights to any Tetris game. It has been licensed out in second party forms (like Tetris DS), but Tetris Holding retains all rights to publishing Tetris on any system.

And no, I don't know anything about the status of the production of a DS or Wii Golden Sun other than Camelot saying they'd like to put it on both systems.  I know they also have a Wii game in production.  So, it's certainly a possibility, but there is no concrete evidence at this point.
