It is cheaper and most would argue about same quality or sometimes even better. If you can buy a product with about the same quality/reliability as another competitor for cheaper of course you are going to buy it. Sure not all Samsung products are very reliable but neither are Sony. Sony has been in a long slow decline and only the playstations have kept them from not looking so bad. They have lost ground in almost all aspects of their business and have even now lost market in their once mighty video game console market. It isn't all doom and gloom but the reality isn't looking too hot for Sony.
