I guess all that talk about the 3DS' hardware strength may have had some merit after all. Kojima says the models in the 3DS demo of MGS were just as high poly as the MGS4 models. Crazy, especially considering he said they could have done better with more time.

There is a little voice in my head that keeps telling me he actually said PS2 and it was written wrong, but we'll find out in time.


Well the 3DS isn't doesn't have to render in nearly as high a resolution as the 360 and PS3. It's rendering at 800x240 (two 400x240 images) or 192,000 pixels for the 3D effect. That isn't near the pixel count as MGS4 which had a native resolution of 1024x768 which 768,432 pixels. It's only about 25% of the pixel count of MGS4. The 3DS wouldn't have to be as powerful as the HD consoles to render similar graphics because of the far lower resolution of the 3DS.
