It's just so people can see trends easily, and to make sure people aren't making up numbers.

1. For example, I never knew beforehand just how much longer PS3 boosts last than 360 ones, 2. but the 360 always has big boosts at Christmas.

3. Didn't do Wii cause we all know its place.

1. The PS3 has had steeper cuts than the Xbox 360.

  • $599
  • $399 (33% or 20% if you count the 20GB)
  • $299 (25%)

Xbox 360 top SKU:

  • $399
  • $349 (12.5%)
  • $299 (14%)
  • $249 (17% for current Xbox 360 Elite)

Xbox 360 Arcade:

  • $299
  • $279 (7%)
  • $200 (29%)

2. Look at the relative sales. The Xbox 360 does better in the U.S. and the U.S. does better relative to the rest of the world at that time.

3. Ahh, I forgive you.

Yes, but despite its larger cuts - the PS3 has still remained more expensive and sold more than the 360 for longer. That's what makes the longer boost point more interesting.

The Xbox 360 has also had a lot of discontinuation sales, although they don't have nearly as big an impact.

For 2, I guess you're right. Black Friday is usually kind to the 360.
