No, if both sell about 10 million WW and 80% of Halo sales are in the states, and 20% of GT in the states comparing the American sales of the two as a benchmark to success is RETARDED. I didnt even read the rest of your novel because you started babbling some shit no one ever said about Halo not selling anywhere else. I never once said "Halo only sells" in the US, look matey, its simple. We all know your comparison was a backhand at GT, thats fine, but its fucking laughable and stupid if you took 10 seconds to check out % of WW sales accounted for in the region. Its astonishing you feel comparing a franchise that sells almost twice as much as another in a certain region is valid. EDIT: Non heavily bundled of course. As we all fondly remember GT3 and GT were bundled heavily bundled. I cant remember if GT2 was or not. |
What i said was not a back hand at GT, far from it. It was an analysis of it's current pre-orders in comparison to other games. It was to show how quick people such as yourself are to change the rule book by which it can be compared. And once again you have done it. You have tried to defend the numbers by turning it into a "You can't compare GT5 numbers in america to other games because it sells most in EU". But yet in your first post you said "This is for US numbers".
My figures which you chose to ignore show that Halo does just as well in other countries as it does in US. In fact it's attach ratio in others is better then GT. You seem to ignore these things because they don't fit in with your defence.
On VGC we don't have all the data for all the GT games. But we do for GT4. We see in it's opening week it sold 750k in US. And 1m in others. Right now if GT5 continues to track at it's current rate it will not beat those US numbers.
With all the talk, all the hype to potentially have a worse opening week in any region is not progress right? If that happens and that is a big IF. What makes you confident the same pattern will not occur in others? This is GT5, the game that some said was going to sell 5m in it's first week? games such as MW2 and Halo 3 have sold near to those figures. Reach is roughly tracking around MW2 so we know it will do ok in comparison.
