It's only been about three weeks. I was considering updating it every month or six weeks, since movement on the list is going to be minimal outside of the holidays and it takes several hours to update the list.

Nope, I think every month is a perfect time to update.  6 weeks isn't too bad either but I think 1 month would be better.  Just whenever you have spare time when it comes to 4-6 weeks since last update.
