Depends on what angle you're approaching that from. From a financial standpoint, there is no question that the system has been a thorn in Sony's side. It also nearly tanked the brand name that is PlayStation. However, it's now, apparently, making back some cash, has a healthy line-up of titles, and will be finishing out the gen like all the other consoles (something past "utter" failures couldn't achieve, such as the Dreamcast). In that sense, I wouldn't call it an "utter" failure. That said, I'm not sure how that relates to what you and I quoted prior, then again, I don't have much time to argue it either. |
What I'm trying to imply is that we, as gamers, should have a different approach to Home than Sony, if it's real that they're making money, you can always think that it's money that could be spent in making more first party games. You (and I'm not referring to you, CGI, but the gamers in general) can't change the way of approaching a problem to always look in the most beneficial way or worst possible way. You have to maintain a constant way of thinking, even when it doesn't put your company in the best light, and in that sense, even when Home could make money, it should be considered a failure in the eyes of most of the people here.
