| Rhonin the wizard said: I was a little bored and I made this spreadsheet that compares the year 2010 with 2009 for Wii, Xbox360 and PS3 software numbers, using VGChartz data. 2010 starts with Week Ending 09th Jan 2010, while 2009 starts with Week Ending 10th Jan 2009 and ends with Week Ending 02nd Jan 2010. The numbers in the the Totals row are only until numbers from 2010 stop, so the comparison can be fair. I highlighted with green the numbers for the console that had the most software sold in a given week. Some things of interest: -in 2009 there were only three weeks where Wii software wasn't the highest, in 2010 there are already four; -in the same time-frame the PS3 has sold 19.599.286 more software in 2010 than in 2009; -so far Wii software was outsold only twice by both Xbox360 and PS3 software: once in 2009 when Modern Warfare 2 was released(Week 45) and once in 2010 when Red Dead Redemption was release(Week 20); -the highest sales for Wii in 2009 was in Week 51: 16.299.950. |
