Takes a high end PC to emulate Saturn games..  Yikes..  One wouldn't really think that would be the case.  I suppose there would be no way to firmware update the Wii to be able to handle the code better to rely less on processing power?  Or how about someone making a better Saturn emulator that doesn't require high end PC?  I am sure it can be done.

The Saturn had a really, really messed up CPU system. Something like multicore ahead of its time, but really closer to the 2 discrete CPUs that the Jaguar had working in tandem. Handling that sort of thing is very difficult for PC CPU systems, or anything else for that matter.

Like if you've ever played Sonic Gems Collection, you'll notice that Sonic R (which was a Saturn game) that they have running on that compilation is actually the PC version of Sonic R. There's a very good reason for that.

The main problem would be space issues, but compression techniques these days could work around that, but the insurmountable one is that the games would pretty much all have to be recoded.

Thanks for more detailed explanation.  I doubt they will go back and recode them because of lack of interest in the system.  I always wanted a Saturn but never got one till it was too late then it broke before I could even play most of the games I listed in the original post.  Sure it didn't do so well but it had some quality games on it.  Sucks that it has to be so difficult to emulate.  I might eventually just buy another Saturn but I wanted it to be on VC for ease of use and to expose more people to the Saturn collection.
