Very nice 360 sales. Not bad sales all round really considering this is normally the slow period.

However it just makes me wonder a bit more about the EU numbers for 360. How is it in US 360 just outsold WII and PS3 COMBINED but yet it sells in the 30's in EU?

I mean i would understand if that was Japan where 360 is not always desirable but in EU it is very similar to US, the markets are almost the same.

It would be good to get some clarification on those numbers and see if it is now because of arcades and elites selling out in various places?

I really think now its because of the Slim moreso than the pricecuts. Look at software, no bumps for Red Dead, slight bump for FF, could be from discounted bundles i guess....but really no big software increase even with an extra almost 100k from its normal selling point.

I always though the bump was from $150 entry price, but i underestimated how much 360 owners reallylove their gaming as apparent by the huge spike.

I think the numbers shed some light onto price point saturation. Price just simply isnt a factor anymore for the 360 since its been $199 for a while in the states and less in EMAA if im not mistaken. I expect now when the Slim is released in EMAA to have an even greater effect then we see now with discounts.

MSFT will likely notice this and begin driving feature driven updates moreso than price battles....great for them since theyre making money on the hardware.

What i mean is if we look closely at eu numbers over the past few weeks we see that the pattern has actually not changed regardless of the price cut to the various models. In UK it still sold around the same as it did before E3 and in the other countries it is doing slightly worse. Would a price cut really make no difference in those countries?

Because if you think about it if a price cut makes no difference would a more expensive 360 make any difference? It is as i said it doesn't seem right. I think the EU numbers maybe have been under-tracked by a fair bit, especially in UK where you will struggle to get hold of a 360 now. The demand is there, the question is, are the stock there to meet it?

You struggle to find a Xbox 360 in the UK because the slim has not released in Europe or others yet. Retailers are selling their remaining stock of the older models.

Also the problem is every UK store has loads of posters for the new 360s. With price and big pictures. With the release date to.

People are waiting for that. As now in Plymouth no more preorders can be taken for day 1 as the allocation is full up. Preorders are now being taken for the 2nd batch.

Crazy.
