They'll release Wii 2/HD/HiFi/whatever late next year just fine. I'm sure it'll be futureproofed for 3D display, Nintendo just won't allow compatibility until home televisions catch up to handhelds with a glassless product.
It's not like Sony had to delay PS3 for 3D...
