lol @ using Sony shipped GT5P figures against 3rd party tracked Halo numbers.  As if shipped vs sold wasn't bad enough, there's also the fact that you can also download Halo 3, and those numbers aren't figured either.

You all realize that SCE basically gave away 300k copies of GT5P in Japan, right?  And according to trackers, it only actually sold ~250k at retail?

Again, when was Halo 3 released on the marketplace? And if you look at the sales of previous titles and compare them to Polyphony's numbers, they're actually very close.

@Hyruken: To respond to your query about the fallacious logic, then no, it's not about the main argument, as I don't give 2 shits about it (nice try, though), it's just about your logic of calling bullshit on a publisher's numbers, when it's easy to figure out that PSN sales aren't accounted for here.

Fair enough, why didn't you just say that then go off one some sort of nerd rage crusade? I am not a mind reader!

As i said in my post before the flameballs came raining down. I was talking about VGC numbers. Anytime a software company talks about sales i take it with a pinch of salt. Because as Jaord pointed out shipped numbers will always be higher then sold. If MS said Halo 3 shipped 15m i would not take that to mean sold. IS that not what we do on this website? If someone say's they shipped 30m consoles do we add those figures to the console totals? No we don't. So that logic which you call fallacious in my opinion is normal logic.

Sure there will be higher figures due to downloads. But that is a whole different thing. You can't bash me for not including them and that is what you did. I used VGC numbers, that is all i did and you went of on one that i didn't include downloads!

I said I would stop there, but I guess I lied.

Ok, I'm man enough to admit I handled the situation wrong, but do you really think there's that many copies sitting on shelves? I simply can't imagine that. I'm pretty sure the PSN sales account for a quite a good number of the difference between VGC's sales and PD's sales.

As i said i am sure downloads for Prologue would amount to a good share. The problem is as i mentioned way before Jerod did that if you use one games downloads or assume a number is correct you have to do the same for all the others in the list. That way you see an acurate list. Obviously we have no way of doing that as downloads can't be tracked. If they were then all games that can be downloaded would gain some form of an increase.

Maybe i didn't make myself clear and that contributed to the misunderstanding, if so, my bad.
