If they do a global release before 2010, I am positive they will not be able to meet demand.
Even with a hypothetical $199 MSRP, they will likely be harder to come by than the Wii during 2006.
Even with a staggered release across all major regions, I still see the 3DS selling out across the board on a constant basis.
Once again, it may just be a simple matter of how many units Nintendo can supply at retail that determines sales.
It should be interesting to see what, if any effect the impending release of the 3DS has on sales of the DSl/DSi/DSXL this holiday season. If Nintendo anticipates any potential hold off could throw their projections for the QTR, who knows? Maybe they will do a limited "guerrilla" release. Unfortunately, it would be console flippers who benefit the most from such a scenario.
