You're the same guy that frequently visited the PS3 game pages during VGC 2.0 to comment on how "disappointing" sales were, and says "Thats good sales" for 360 titles that have sold similiar (or less) amounts.
You thinking GT5 will flop in America is no surprise. 
Pre-orders pick up near release date, unless the game in question is an absolute behemoth. GT5 will sell very well in America, but it will not be as big as CoD or Halo.
In Europe, thats a whole other scenario. I'm willing to bet pre-orders are MUCH higher in Europe.
