PS3 Others sales this week in 2009 were 10K less than the same week in 2008. I checked when I made that post.
The whole market being down is not a 'cause' in the way you treat it. It is a result of the fact that all consoles are either aging or in trouble. These falls do not line up with the economy in general, retail sales around Europe are generally flat while the games market is way down. In other words the whole video games industry is struggling, including PS3 which is only flat against a weak time last year.
