We do not know the specifics of Nintendo's customization of this chip: we know it's not running MSAA (nor is PSP), but is using jittered samples to produce an anti aliasing effect (although I'm not sure that could be compatable with 3D effects). Regardless, every single possible specification of this chip is above the PSP's dedicated GPU by substantial margins, and has significantly improved shader effects. In other words, unless Nintendo went in and deliberately limited the fixed pipeline in this chip, it's impossible for this to be lower spec than the PSP's equivalent. It's either better, or much better: one of those two.
