Good thing LBP2 has the gameplay to back it up then. Its gameplay is in no way an aftethought, I had tremendous fun with the first game despite never creating a level.

Even if they fixed the broken gameplay of the first one this one still has to go against Galaxy 2, and I highly doubt that it will be that good.
It had some issues, but it certainly wasn't broken. Yes it probably won't beat Galaxy 2 for GotY but since I don't think you've played either I really don't see what you are basing the comparison off of.
I've actually played both, LBP that is not LBP2 obviously, and LBP was a very meh platformer meanwhile Galaxy 2 had absolutely everything right. Also keep failing in your assumptions.
being "meh" platformer doesn't mean it's broken. I assumed you hadn't played it because you made such an over the top statement, but I guess you have and you were just being over the top.
I use too much hyperbole, sorry. I agree it is not broken in the sense that it was buggy, it was just a very "pretty cool," at best, and infuriating jumping, at worst, platformer. Fixing Sackboy's movements, especially jumping, would make LBP2 a really good platformer, but it will need a lot more than just that to beat Galaxy 2.

Which is where the community comes in. I don't know if LBP2 can beat Galaxy 2, but comparing them as platformers is very limiting to LBP2, especially with all the new community features it's bringing.
