Yes, they seem to be reusing PS2 assets for about 80% of the game's vehicles.

Still no where in there does it say there is no cockpit view for the standard cars. 

I don't know the first thing about it. I only posted this link because I saw this discussion and remembered the same one goignn on at NeoGAF. Did they have cockpit views in the PS2 version? If so, they'll probably be PS2 cockpits with nicer textures.

I dont remember that long ago.  But they did have them for GT5p,  about 70 cars worth of them.  And I cant imagine that all of those are in "Premium Cars" group.
