From a company point of view, the 3DS will help Sony as 3D will become more of a mainstream technology that everyone wants. So, they have the opportunity to sell more TVs, movies, etc.

However, from future PSP point of view, there is a reason no PSP2 has been mentioned yet. It will have a 3D screen (probably same screen) when Sony finally shows it off. If they don't they will lose the market share the current PSP has gained.

Lmao so when nintendo does something now, sony has to follow? That's not a correct assesment.. sony already said they don't think it's a good idea to implement 3d on a handheld.. Why would they make a 3D PSP?  What they can do is make the PSP a phone..

Well.... they said the same about motion controllers... and everybody knows how it ended =D

Of course sony is glad... now, they know what psptwo is getting xD

Sony is glad because 3DS stole all the hype from kinect and consequently no one cares about kinect anymore, and motion control is already yesterdays news. and for all those people who keep saying sony is copying nintendo etc, didnt sony announce 3D support before nintendo???

I was just talking about the next handheld, not home console.

Motion control is yesterday news? Then sony and MS are stupid for focusing on that in their conferences i guess

Sony didnt focus on motion control, there are over 70 million wii users, i think the next big thing is 3DS not another motion control device; its been done already.

Well.... they did focus on the move. They are barely going to release the move... so yeah, the next step for sony is motion controls... at least on the ps3. For nintendo, is 3D...at least, on the 3DS
